Position Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Aircraft Painter to join our team. In this role, you will work under minimal supervision to prepare, paint, and detail aircraft according to schedule while adhering to company quality standards and operating procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial painting, preferably in the aircraft industry, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aircraft Preparation & Painting: Safely perform the preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft according to company and FAA specifications.
- Compliance & Quality: Coordinate with supervision and inspection teams to ensure compliance with internal paperwork, FAA sign-offs, and quality standards.
- Tool & Equipment Use: Operate tools such as dual-action sanders, hydraulic lift platforms, and paint sprayers in adherence to standard operating procedures. Maintain and care for all equipment and tools.
- Chemical Handling: Safely use and apply sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals with the appropriate protective equipment.
- Safety & Risk Management: Follow safety protocols and remain alert to unsafe conditions, addressing them promptly to ensure the safety of personnel and property.
- Material Tracking & Documentation: Utilize material tracking systems to manage parts demand, track work progress, and sign off on completed tasks.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by offering ideas and participating in improvement activities.
- Aircraft Movement: Assist with aircraft movement within hangars as necessary.
Education & Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a related industrial painting process. Experience in the aircraft industry is highly preferred.
- Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver’s License is required. Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Working knowledge of paint processes and products, including lacquers, enamels, epoxies, urethanes, and acrylics.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation.
- Proficient in using tools and equipment associated with aircraft painting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Computer literate and comfortable using software for material tracking and work documentation.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
