What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bond Technician position at Team Global?
Summary
As a Bond Technician, you will perform repairs on parts/components by means of “Wet Layup” and “Prepreg.” Some repairs must be facilitated by the use of a clean room and cured using an autoclave. Types of composite bonding methods utilized in repair may include co-curing, co-bonding, secondary bonding, and metal bonding, with adhesives in liquid form and film.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs in accordance with current technical data and procedures.
- Read and interpret basic blueprints.
- Use close tolerance measuring tools (e.g., scales, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges).
- Operate hand tools (e.g., drill motors, die grinders, rivet guns, fastener installation tools).
- Perform alignment/assembly using jigs, templates, and fixtures.
- Utilize PPE when cutting, grinding, blending, and sanding.
- Engage in extensive use of bagging materials and properly bag a wide range of component shapes and styles.
- Capable of using a “Hot-Bonder” type machine cure procedure.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience performing mechanical assembly in an aircraft, automotive, or similar environment is preferred.
Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
- Stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
