Key Responsibilities:
- Under specific instruction and guidance, assist with the fitting of detail parts and perform basic drilling and riveting operations using hand tools (e.g., pneumatic drills, rivet guns, counter sinks, reamers, files).
- Ensure parts and work meet the specifications set by the assigned manufacturing employee or Quality Control Inspector.
- Learn to read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specification sheets to determine the sequence of operations and work requirements.
- Align and assemble parts to be riveted using holding fixtures, pins, clamps, and fasteners.
- Observe and assist with tasks to familiarize yourself with parts and assemblies, gradually working with less supervision as you gain experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required; enrollment in a Technical Aviation Program is preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and an eagerness to learn.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; excellent communication and computer keyboard skills.
- Must be able to wear a respirator and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to read a scale and perform basic shop math.
- Ability to comprehend and follow basic documents and instructions.
- Attention to detail, a professional attitude, and the ability to work well with others.
- Must demonstrate good housekeeping and safety practices at all times.
- Proficiency with personal computer-based software.
- Flexibility to work any shift as needed.
- Ability to lift and transport objects up to 40 pounds.
