About the Company:
The Florida Pool and Spa Association, Inc. operates as the Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA.) The FSPA operates as an independent not-for-profit organization serving Florida’s pool and spa industry. It was originally created by a national organization’s Chapters in Florida to serve as the coordinating and administrative support office to carry out projects, programs and services which could be best accomplished on a state-wide level. FSPA is committed to fair business practices and standards of health and safety excellence. We serve as industry educator, promoter, and information bank. Under the FSPA umbrella are three additional entities, the Florida Swims Foundation, the Pool Industry Political Action Committee (PIPAC) and the Pool Industry Council (PIC). Each one of these entities all serve to benefit and support the swimming pool industry by providing scholarships & swimming lessons, legislature & building code support and education respectively. Each one of these are run independently of the FSPA and support the overall mission of the FSPA.

Position Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader to join and guide a dynamic non-profit organization committed to making a meaningful impact. The Executive Director will drive the strategic direction of the organization, overseeing administration, programs, and initiatives that align with its mission. Key responsibilities include leadership, fundraising, marketing, and community engagement. The Executive Director serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and a champion for the organization’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities of this role:
Leadership and Management
- Serve as the principal communicator with the Board of Directors, providing timely, accurate, and relevant information to support informed decision-making.
- Oversee day-to-day operations and administration to ensure efficiency and mission alignment.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of staff and consultants to advance the organization’s goals.
- Lead marketing and communications strategies to elevate the organization’s visibility and brand.
- Organize and facilitate Board meetings, committee meetings, and strategic discussions.
- Implement and maintain robust evaluation systems to measure progress and improve program outcomes.
- Ensure seamless execution and successful management of annual trade show activities.
Mission and Strategy
- Collaborate with the Board and staff to advance the organization’s mission through impactful programs, strategic initiatives, and community outreach.
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate, building awareness and support for the organization.
- Expand and strengthen local programs to meet evolving community needs.
- Cultivate and sustain meaningful partnerships with members, manufacturers, distributors, industry associations, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Lead and innovate fundraising strategies to secure resources for organizational growth.
- Strategic Marketing Initiatives (experience with publications, social media marketing, events, etc.)
Financial Management
- Identify and develop financial resources to maintain a healthy financial position.
- Oversee accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting to reflect the organization’s financial health.
- Ensure effective fiscal management, including resource allocation and contract approvals.
- Optimize resource utilization to drive the organization’s mission while maintaining financial stability.
Qualifications and Desired Attributes
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven success in working with a Board of Directors, with the ability to build and sustain strong relationships.
- Demonstrated excellence in organizational management, including leading teams, managing budgets, and achieving strategic goals.

- Strong background in marketing, public relations, and fundraising, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders and cultures.
