Position Summary
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a warehouse, ensuring that inventory is managed efficiently and operations run smoothly. They supervise a team of warehouse workers, manage stock levels, maintain safety protocols, and ensure that orders are processed, stored, and shipped correctly.
Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise Warehouse Team Members:
- Ensure team members are using time efficiently and following company protocol
- Ensure team members are clocking in and out on time and taking breaks as required
- Follow company disciplinary action for warehouse team members not following company procedures
Manage Order Preparation:
- Ensure all orders are pulled and prepped according to date and time required
- Breakdown order counts to determine material to pull
- Assign orders to warehouse clerks according to priority and pick up schedule
- Stage orders and turn in order confirmation to logistics manager
- Inspect staged orders for accuracy
- Ensure pictures are taken of orders that are loaded and shipped and that all warehouse clerks know they are responsible for ensuring that pictures are taken of all orders
- Ensure all pictures taken of orders are uploaded to computer and archived
- Ensure that correct item codes to be invoiced are on paperwork handed in for invoicing
- Ensure that warehouse staff are following proper procedures for packing and labeling orders to prevent damage and ensure easy identification.
- Ensure warehouse labels all crates and pallets with order numbers
- Ensure that all staged orders paperwork is completed in a timely manner
- Serve as backup in preparing orders and assist in loading trucks when needed
Material Receiving:
- Supervise the unloading of containers
- Ensure that inbound material is properly inspected, counted and recorded according to company procedures
- Ensure all material is inspected for quality, color, finish dimensions and thickness before it is received into our inventory system
- Ensure that all crates / pallets are labelled with proper item code and description
- Ensure that receiving paperwork is turned in to the manager within 48 hours of the container unloading
- Ensure material is placed according to planogram layout
- Inspect and approve all returns and ensure material return paperwork is completed and turned into manager within the same business day
- Assist with unloading containers and trucks if needed.
Inventory/Warehousing:
- Make efficient use of warehouse space by working with the purchasing and logistics manager to create a planogram for all materials
- Ensure that material is inventoried in an organized manner and like materials are kept together
- Conduct monthly inventory cycle counts
- Inspect condition and quality of inventory and rotate and select material for orders in a way that reduces dead stock
- Inspect and report inventory transfers in and out
- Move inventory and replenish stock as needed
- Notify purchasing of low stock items
- Monitor the condition of crates and reposition and repack as needed
Housekeeping:
- Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a clean, safe and organized condition
- Consolidate material in crates / pallets to reduce space taken up by partials.
- Monitoring that the warehouse clears loose debris and/or materials after pulling orders ensuring no debris or items are left on the warehouse floor
- Sweep floor in warehouse and clean the exterior yard on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Make sure the parking lot and front of building is clear of debris
- ensure that supplies are stocked and advise management when supplies need to be ordered.
- Monitor forklifts and other equipment to ensure they are in proper operating condition and report any issues requiring service.
Sample and Sample board shipment:
- Ensure sample requests are shipped in a timely manner. Sample requests of no more than 10 pieces of stock material should ship within 24 hours.
- Make sure warehouse clerks are pulling correct sample selections, cleaning and labeling samples
- Ensure sample boards inventory is adequate and stocks are kept current.
- Make sure warehouse clerks are securely packing samples and sample boards to prevent
breakage in transit
- Have samples pulled within 10 minutes for walk-in clients
Safety:
- Ensure all warehouse team members are following company safety protocol for all material handling
- Ensure all warehouse team members are following the company safety protocol for forklift operation
- Ensure all team members are wearing their back support during all business hours
- Ensure all team members are not listening to music or talking on the phone while operating equipment or handling material
Customer Service:
- Ensure all customers are greeted with a positive attitude by yourself as well as the warehouse team members
- Ensure pick-up customers are updated on the expected wait time
- Assist clients who want to see material
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
- Positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude

- Ability to move and lift up to 100 lbs as needed
- Computer literate (Beginner-Intermediate Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Microsoft 365 Dynamics experience a plus
- Organized and detail oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Forklift certified
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 100lbs
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- 2 years of warehouse experience
- Attention to detail
