As a Deputy Director at our base camp facility, you will play a critical role in supporting the Basecamp Director in overseeing all aspects of camp operations and ensuring the smooth delivery of products and services. You will collaborate closely with the Basecamp Director, vendors, and camp staff to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our guests. Your proactive approach, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction will contribute to the success of the camp and enhance the guest experience.
Essential Position Functions
Support Basecamp Director
Assist the Basecamp Director in driving daily camp operations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and codes, and coordinating activities with the Mayor Cell and other stakeholders.
Maintain strong relationships with the client, onsite staff, and Team Housing Solutions to facilitate smooth communication and promptly address any concerns or requests.
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all camp assets and vendor supplies, ensuring that all equipment and rolling stock are properly maintained.
Collaborate with the Basecamp Director in scheduling, managing, and coordinating all vendors and service providers to support project delivery and camp services.
Support the Basecamp Director in ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and access control measures to maintain a secure camp environment.
Ensure 24-hour emergency coverage for the camp and assist in crisis management and first aid procedures when needed.
Conduct periodic inspections of the camp and tenant spaces to ensure compliance with maintenance standards and promptly address any property-related complaints or violations.
Contribute to eco-friendly practices and sustainability initiatives to minimize the camp's environmental impact.
Provide excellent tenant service, responding to guest requests and generating work orders directed to vendors or maintenance staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
Training Support
Work with the Basecamp Director to provide challenging and rewarding opportunities for camp staff, promoting positive employee relationships, and facilitating training and development programs.
Reporting
Assist with handling THS expense reports, camp employee payroll, and coordinate with Accounts Payable for timely payments to vendors.
Minimum Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in hospitality management, environmental sciences, or related field is a plus.
2 years of experience in campsite management, facilities coordination, or a similar role.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management across multiple disciplines and ability to handle various tasks efficiently.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with clients, staff, and vendors.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain records, documentation, and inventory.
Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices and health and safety regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote camp environment and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
