What You’ll Do

As our Production Manager – Night Shift, you will oversee all operations that take place during the second and third shifts, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient performance across all night shift operations. Your leadership and accountability span both shifts through direct supervision of two salaried Production Supervisors, coordination with their respective teams, and direct oversight of the Order Selecting team.

You’ll drive performance, safety, and service excellence by coaching leaders, supporting frontline teams, and ensuring that nightly operations are executed with accuracy and efficiency. You’ll also play a critical role in team development, communication, and collaboration across shifts to ensure a seamless flow of work and a positive workplace culture. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who thrives on accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

• Lead all aspects of night shift warehouse operations, including order selection, temperature-controlled order selection and loading, and dry bulk loading.
• Provide direct supervision to the Order Selecting team, ensuring customer orders are picked accurately, efficiently, and safely.
• Supervise two night shift Production Supervisors, offering coaching, real-time support, and accountability for the performance of their respective teams.
• Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures across all teams, fostering a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
• Monitor staffing levels, productivity benchmarks, and cost performance to ensure operational goals are met or exceeded.
• Manage time off requests, review and approve timecards using ADP, and report accurate payroll data to management and payroll administration.
• Maintain attendance records and issue documentation in alignment with the warehouse attendance policy.
• Ensure a clean, organized, and safe environment by applying lean practices and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
• Review nightly processes for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency, and recommend process improvements as needed.
• Accurately enter production data and review nightly reports to track results against established standards.
• Share performance trends and results with team members to guide coaching, recognition, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all team members are properly trained and supported in their roles, and actively promote their development through regular feedback, coaching, and goal-setting.
• Conduct interviews and assist in hiring decisions in collaboration with HR and leadership.
• Oversee accurate billing and invoicing of outbound orders.
• Maintain proactive communication with HR and leadership, sharing updates and addressing issues in a timely manner.
• Take ownership of team performance, promoting collaboration, accountability, and high morale across all shifts.
• Any additional task assigned by manager. Responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

The ideal candidate is confident managing people and processes in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, while also maintaining a calm and supportive presence.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Proven leadership experience in a warehouse, production, or distribution environment.
• Ability to lead both hourly and salaried team members with accountability and empathy
• Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with performance metrics, cost control, and continuous improvement.
• Comfort with technology, including timekeeping systems and Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work second shift hours and adjust schedule as necessary to business needs (e.g., peak season).

Additional Information

Schedule: Sunday – Thursday
Start Time: 3:30 PM
Expected Hours per Week: Approximately 45 hours /-
Weekend Work: Minimal; Friday evening coverage rotates with other managers

Work Environment:

• Warehouse facility with concrete floors
• Varying temperature zones:
  • Ambient (~70°F)
  • Cooler (~34°F)
  • Freezer (0°F)
  • Ice Cream Freezer (-10°F)
• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally

Travel: Very limited travel for offsite meetings, trainings, or industry events may be required.
