The Admissions Specialist role is responsible for managing the admissions process for individuals seeking treatment for substance abuse and addiction. The role serves as the initial point of contact for potential clients and their families, guiding them through the admissions process, assessing their needs, and ensuring a smooth transition into treatment.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Calendar, Outlook, and Teams).
- Working knowledge of Google Workplace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Gmail, Chat, Spaces, Keep, Tasks, Calendar, and Meet).
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Knowledge of addictions and mental health complications.
- Knowledge of community health resources that support life improvement in physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health, economic security, employment, positive social and family interdependence and positive cultural identity including :
- Knowledge of referral procedures and admittance criteria for health care and community providers.
- Ability to network and collaborate with healthcare and other social and cultural agencies that can provide services to the patients and families.
- Knowledge and competency in problem solving, stress management, ethics and team building.
- Knowledge and competency in Behavioral Health and substance Use Disorder diagnoses and related symptoms.
- Knowledge and competency in crisis intervention, de-escalation, and calming techniques.
- Knowledge and competency in risk factors for suicide / homicide.
- Knowledge and competency in risk assessment and safety planning.
Knowledge of alcohol and other drugs that includes :
Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and / or drug overdose.
Knowledge of the stages of alcohol and other drug withdrawals and ability to take appropriate action at each stage.
EDUCATION : Required : High School Diploma or GED, Preferred : Degree from accredited college or university in a related field of study.
EXPERIENCE : Behavioral Health and SUD treatment. Preferred : Minimum of 3 years of experience with intake / admissions process.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : Required : Valid CDCA, QMHS, and / or CPI Certification, Preferred : Bachelor's level certification (LCDC III or higher) Required : Valid First Aid / CPR, AED, BLS, or ALS Certification
