RN Charge Nurse
Days or Nights (3)12 hour shifts, rotating weekends
Position Summary
This role oversees nursing staff, ensuring high-quality client care and operational efficiency. This role involves
leadership, coordination, and support for nursing staff in addition to providing direct care to clients when
necessary / required.
Job Functions / Duties :
Complete client admission process for all new intakes in entirety whenever possible.
Monitor clients throughout their treatment to assess their progress and address any issues that may arise.
Assess clients in an individual or group setting who are experiencing active withdrawal while providing a safe and supportive environment as needed.
Administer medications as prescribed by medical providers in an inpatient setting as needed.
Work closely with medical providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for clients.
Facilitate communication between medical providers, nursing staff, and other departments.
Respond to emergencies and crises within the facility, such as code blue, overdose situations, or clients experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms.
Provide immediate medical care and interventions to stabilize clients and ensure their safety.
Ensure accurate and up-to-date medical records, including client assessments, treatment plans, medication administration records, and progress notes.
Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards related to client confidentiality and record-keeping.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance client care and outcomes.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and best practices in addiction and mental health treatment.
Supervise and coordinate daily nursing activities.
Serve as a resource for nursing staff and assist with clinical decision-making.
Evaluate and provide performance feedback for nursing staff.
Assist in staff scheduling and resource allocation.
Assist with covering holes in the schedule as needed.
Provide administrative on call coverage as needed.
Oversee nursing processes and ensure compliance / adherence
Other duties as assigned within the medical department.
Education / License
- Graduated from an accredited college or university with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
- Valid Ohio RN License
- BLS CPR Certification
Experience
