Opportunity Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and sustainability of Microsoft's data centers by gathering business requirements, analyzing key metrics, and helping the team implement high-priority initiatives. This team is currently understaffed and looking for additional expertise to help measure critical sustainability metrics accurately.
This role offers an opportunity to work in a growing field, learn about data centers, and contribute meaningfully to global sustainability efforts while collaborating with international teams.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work with key stakeholders to align technology solutions with business strategies and sustainability initiatives.
- Gather business and functional requirements from various business units.
- Translate requirements into technical and functional specifications for developers and programmers.
- Collaborate with teams to drive business priorities and track completion of work in program/project management initiatives.
- Provide insight into complex business functions and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support highly complex business processes related to sustainability tracking and reporting.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, serving as a liaison between data center operations and business stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with sustainability certifications and efficiency metrics through data analysis and process optimization.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in business systems analysis, project management, or sustainability initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, or related field). An MBA or related advanced degree is preferred.
- Strong understanding of business functions and experience in translating business needs into technical specifications.
- Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) and experience with data analytics tools.
- Excellent organizational communication skills to manage and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Experience with data center operations is highly preferred.
- PMP or Azure certifications are a plus.
- Military experience (especially Navy experience) is considered valuable.
- Ability to analyze technical schematics and specifications for infrastructure-related projects.
