We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing our enterprise IT infrastructure, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure cloud services. This role involves maintaining the health and stability of our systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all platforms. The Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer will also lead projects, mentor junior staff, and work closely with other IT and business units to align technology solutions with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:


Design and Implementation:


● Design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide IT systems, including servers, storage,
networking, and cloud-based infrastructure, with a particular emphasis on Microsoft Azure.
● Develop and implement strategies for scalability, performance optimization, and security enhancements in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
● Plan and execute system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes to ensure system integrity and compliance with security standards.


System Administration and Maintenance:


● Perform day-to-day administration and monitoring of enterprise systems, including Azure-based services, to ensure availability, performance, and security.
● Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly, both in on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
● Automate routine tasks and processes using Azure automation tools and other scripting languages to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.


Azure Cloud Management:


● Manage and optimize Azure cloud services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Active Directory, Azure Networking, and Azure Storage solutions.
● Implement and manage Azure security best practices, such as Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and Azure Monitor.
● Design and maintain Azure backup and disaster recovery solutions, ensuring data protection and business continuity.


Security and Compliance:


● Implement and maintain security measures to protect data, applications, and systems from threats, with a focus on Azure security tools and best practices.
● Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk management activities, including Azure-based security assessments.
● Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices in both on-premises and Azure cloud environments.


Project Management:


● Lead and manage IT infrastructure projects, including cloud migration initiatives and Azure deployment projects, from planning through execution, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
● Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
● Provide regular project status updates and documentation.


Collaboration and Support:


● Collaborate with other IT teams, such as network, security, and application development, to provide integrated solutions across on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
● Work closely with business units to understand their needs and translate them into effective technical solutions, leveraging Azure services where appropriate.
● Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and IT staff, including training on Azure technologies.


Documentation and Reporting:


● Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems architecture, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides, including Azure-specific documentation.
● Develop and deliver reports on system performance, capacity planning, and other key metrics, with insights into Azure resource usage and optimization.


Qualifications:


● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
● Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or a similar role, with significant experience managing Azure cloud environments.
● Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, virtualization
technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.
● Experience with Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Networking, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Storage solutions.
● Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security practices, including Azure Networking and security features.
● Proven ability to manage large-scale IT projects and lead cross-functional teams.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
● Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.


Preferred Skills:


● Experience with Azure automation tools (e.g., Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates).
● Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines, particularly in Azure DevOps.
● Knowledge of database management and administration (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle),including Azure SQL Database.
● Experience with monitoring tools and performance tuning, including Azure Monitor and Azure Log Analytics.
