We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and implement a self-service developer platform, enabling fast, reliable cloud deployments. You will manage end-to-end deployment systems (GitLab, Spinnaker, ArgoCD), troubleshoot Kubernetes-related issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to build scalable, automated delivery solutions. The ideal candidate has expertise in Kubernetes, containers, and cloud providers (Google Cloud/AWS), with a strong focus on automation, performance, and reliability.
Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance delivery tooling to streamline software deployment and improve engineering productivity.
Enable engineering teams to build, deploy, and operate their applications with end-to-end ownership using modern cloud-native best practices.
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to provide scalable, secure, and efficient infrastructure for development teams.
Enhance platform capabilities by adding new features to our cloud delivery systems, enabling consistent deployment practices across engineering teams.
Collaborate with Cloud Engineering and SRE teams to establish infrastructure standards and improve observability through logging, metrics, and tracing.
Support and improve testing infrastructure in collaboration with the Quality Engineering team to accelerate software validation.
Develop a self-service, data-driven platform that provides declarative tooling for CI/CD, infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and security to enable engineering teams with a paved road approach.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
4-6 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
Hands-on experience with CI (Continuous Integration) pipeline tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience managing cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform/OpenTofu.
Proficiency in scripting or light development using Python, Go, or Bash to automate infrastructure and API integrations (experience with C#/.NET is a plus).
3-4 years of experience with CD (Continuous Deployment) and developer platform tools such as ArgoCD, Harness, CodeFresh, Backstage, or similar.
Strong experience with Linux and containerization (preferably Kubernetes).
Familiarity with package management tools such as Helm, Terraform modules, NuGet, PyPi, or NPM registries.
Strong open-source mindset, with a passion for collaboration, contribution, and innovation (OSS contributions are a plus!).
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work across development and infrastructure teams.
Preferred Skills:
Experience managing regulated cloud environments in Google Cloud and AWS.
Knowledge of cloud networking, load balancing, and database technologies.
Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Relevant certifications, such as:
Google Cloud Professional Engineer
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
Compensation: $152,000-206,000 annually
