Team Texas, the statewide member-based business attraction program through Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC), produces opportunities for statewide job creation, increased investment, and economic diversification. The Team Texas program operates with six core values at its foundation, including Team, Hospitality, Excellence, Accountability, Communication, and Customer Service. Team Texas marketing efforts include industry trade shows, domestic and international road shows, hospitality events, digital promotion, and more.

The Team Texas is seeking an intern to support the program and play an important role in helping Team Texas to achieve its mission at the highest level with the core values as the baseline.

Requirements 

Upper-Level undergraduate or graduate students with the ability to work approximately 10-15 hours per week beginning in January 2025 (can be completed for course credit). Ideally, the candidate is available to extend the internship into the Summer / Fall 2025 semesters.

This position is hybrid; all work will be done remote, but there will often be in-person meet-ups required in central Austin, Texas. A laptop can be provided as needed.

Key Responsibilities

·      Member Tracking: Offers support in tracking all Team Texas member levels and corresponding benefits throughout the year.

·      Marketing & Communications Strategy: Drafts Team Texas’ digital communications strategy including, but not limited to, social media content, e-newsletter and event marketing copy, and website updates. Drafts content for platforms across Team Texas’ suite of marketing tools and engages with all audiences.

·      Event Planning Support: Assists in pre-event planning and post-event close out/follow up such as arranging trade show logistics, pre- and post-event communications, and more.

·      Operations Support: Assists in maintaining contact database, tracking the program’s performance metrics monthly, and prepares materials for meetings and other presentations as requested. Coordinates all shipping and other supply orders.

·      Performs other duties as assigned.

·      Acute attention to detail.

·      Self-starter who is productive without constant direct supervision.

·      Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, Canva, email distribution platforms, etc.

Competitive Compensation

Request is for 10-15 hours/week at an hourly rate of $15/hour plus performance review after each semester with opportunity for compensation increase; professional development opportunities included as well.

This internship adheres to guidelines required for those seeking an internship for course credit. 

The Team Texas Intern will report directly to the Director of Team Texas and will be considered an employee of the Texas Economic Development Council.
