Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in aircraft maintenance, with the ability to read and interpret schematics. This role involves the ability to Inspect, test, repair, maintain, and service aircraft using test equipment and hand tools, as needed, to return aircraft to service per FAA and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in general aviation preferred
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience performing structural repairs and modifications with Sheet Metal on all or some of the following airframes: Pilatus, Piper, King Air, Cessna, Beechcraft, Citation, Hawker, Falcon, Embraer, Gulfstream, and Challenger
- Hands-on experience working with sheet metal and composite materials, assembly techniques, and refined metal processes
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics required
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to follow directions
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Must have own tools
- Must be able to obtain an Airport Issued security badge
Job Duties
- Performs routine maintenance and inspections on general aviation aircraft
- Performs structural repairs and modifications
- Ensures proper care of customer property through all phases of maintenance work
- Accurately completes required paperwork and work order details in Corridor
- Orders parts using Corridor as requested by the lead technician
- Continually keeps clean and organized work area including personal toolbox
- Works overtime as required
- Meets or beats flat rates for most of the assigned tasks
- Understands and follows all safety procedures and utilizes support equipment in a safe manner
- Responsible for completing training syllabus for advancement to the next level Performs other duties as directed
Physical Requirements
- Work is performed in an aircraft hangar environment with a moderate noise level.
- The employee is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
- Must have the ability to climb and bend at the waist, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, work at heights, and reach overhead above the shoulders and horizontally.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
