TeamHealth is seeking an experienced physician to join our emergency medicine and hospitalist team.
About the Role:
This challenging opportunity combines the expertise of a dual-trained physician in emergency medicine (EM) and hospitalist (HM) to deliver comprehensive medical care to patients in the emergency department and hospital setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely and high-quality medical care to patients, assessing and treating acute injuries or illnesses, conducting thorough evaluations, and coordinating communication with specialists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Main Responsibilities:
- Emergency Medicine:
- Deliver top-notch patient care in the emergency department
- Evaluate and manage patients with acute conditions
- Conduct detailed physical examinations and order diagnostic tests as needed
- Stabilize critically ill or injured patients and coordinate transfers when necessary
- Hospital Medicine:
- Provide daily rounds on patients
- Oversee admissions, discharges, and other aspects of patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters and progress in medical records
Requirements:
- Medical degree from an accredited institution
- Board certification or eligibility in EM, IM, or FM
- Valid state medical license in Kentucky or ability to obtain one
- Experience in both EM and HM preferred but not required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
