Job Role: Data Center Operation Engineer Level III
Location: Virginia Office at Reston & Ashburn (All 5 days office)
Duration: 6 Months
Shift Roaster: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (9 Hours shift time - 1 hour break)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide 1st and 2nd level support for network and communication link infrastructure.
· Troubleshoot LAN and Global Communication networks, including switches, routers, and communication links (e.g., VSAT, MPLS, IPL).
· Work with NOC to replace cables, clean fiber connections, and test connections using FLUKE meters.
· Coordinate with internal and third-party vendors for fast resolutions.
· Connect equipment and run cabling in Data Centers and Communication Rooms.
· Configure switch ports, operate test equipment, and perform diagnostic testing.
· Create and update incident tickets, follow-up, and provide technical documentation.
· Perform supervisory duties to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures.
· Develop and manage data center equipment placement processes.
· Utilize DCIM software for managing changes in the data center environment.
· Perform asset management and periodic audits of IT assets.
· Support capacity planning and resource allocation.
· Ensure compliance with data center policies and procedures.
· Build and maintain databases for reporting and queries.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Knowledge of electrical power systems and data center design.
· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access).
· Experience with DCIM tools (DCTrack , PowerIQ from Sunbird) , structured cabling, and HVAC systems
· Familiarity with cloud computing, virtualization, and blade systems.
· Strong analytical, communication, and task planning skills.
