What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEAM Counselor position at Teamworks Adventure Camp - Westford?
Teamworks Adventure Camp is looking for a STEAM INSTRUCTOR for our science and engineer-based program. Responsibilities will include creating curriculum for STEM activities like building rockets, airplanes, structures, legos with a little art thrown in for fun and more! Our campers range between 4 and 14, so it is important to have ideas to engage multiple ages. Please be upbeat, enthusiastic and encouraging so that campers will learn and grow this summer! Please note you must be at least 18 to apply.
```Responsibilities```
- Create new and use existing curriculum to teach basic and advanced STEAM principles
- Teach curriculum to campers at an age-appropriate level for each group
- Stay engaged with campers and keep them on task to complete their project
- Be sure curriculum is fun and engaging for the age groups visiting you each day
- Collaborate with counselors to best support all campers, especially those that struggle
- Be inclusive and be able to connect with people from all walks of life
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Background working with children under 14
- Strong knowledge of STEAM principles
- Comfortable coming up with curriculum for multiple age groups and abilities
- Experience conducting small group learning sessions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to provide child-centered care and demonstrate empathy towards all campers and staff
