What You'll Do
- Monitor and analyze market trends, economic indicators, and supply/demand dynamics for assigned commodities.
- Develop forecasts and provide actionable insights to support procurement and business decisions.
- Conduct cost analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements.
- Develop project plans, set timelines, and monitor progress to ensure successful delivery of assigned projects
- Communicate project updates and outcomes to stakeholders.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure contracts align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to drive long-term partnerships
- Partner with internal teams, including procurement, finance, and operations, to align commodity strategies with organizational goals.
- Provide regular reports and presentations to management, summarizing market conditions, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, price volatility, and supplier performance.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions and maintain continuity in supply.
- Accredited 4 year college degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, Finance or other related fields or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Commodity Manager / Specialist Role
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an analyst or within a Project Manager role
- Advanced working knowledge and experience with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Experience working for CPG or Food & Beverage manufacturing environment a plus
- Strong tactical skillset and critical thinker which demonstrates integrity and reliability
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
- Laser focus on execution (end to end)
- Problem solving and decision-making capabilities; strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple information streams
- Possess strong leadership characteristics by influencing those who do not report directly to this position
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as a leader and team player
