The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair tasks. This role requires a level of technical expertise and the ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
What You'll Do
- Perform corrective maintenance on production equipment, including pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, and conveyor systems.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, such as misalignments, bearing failures, and seal leaks, using technical manuals and schematics.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and ensure production efficiency.
- Assist Preventative Maintenance Technicians in developing and optimizing PM tasks and schedules.
- Train and mentor Technician 1 staff, providing guidance on best practices and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts inventory, equipment history, and repair logs.
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to identify and address equipment-related issues affecting product quality.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including OSHA, FDA, and USDA requirements.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship preferred.
- 4 years of experience in a maintenance or mechanical role, preferably in food manufacturing or a similar industry.
- Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
