What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2025 ESY Program (1) position at TEC Campus School?
THE ROLE:
The TEC Campus School ESY25 LPN is a member of an integrated team that includes teachers, nurses, therapists, and paraprofessionals who work collaboratively during the school day to support our students. Under the supervision of the Nurse Leader, the LPN cares for chronic and acute medically fragile students within a classroom setting. The LPN provides direct, indirect, and consultation nursing services to support the implementation of students’ educational goals and objectives as described in their individualized education plans (IEPs).
OUR ORGANIZATION:
The Education Cooperative (TEC) is an educational collaborative and 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located in E. Walpole, MA that develops and coordinates educational and organizational programs to meet the needs of our 17 member communities and their students in a way that complements and strengthens their school programs and expands opportunities for their students, educators and communities in the most cost effective manner. TEC’s programs include three DESE approved public special education day schools, including the TEC Campus School.
Located at TEC’s beautiful 8-acres campus in E. Walpole, the TEC Campus Schools provides a small, caring, environment for students aged 3 through 21 that fosters the growth and success of each student. Working as an integrated team, TCS’s teachers, nurses, therapists, and paraprofessionals, provide personalized multi-sensory instruction to meet individuals’ learning, communication, social, emotional, motor, behavior, daily living, and transition goals. Our students’ profiles may include: neurological impairment, sensory impairment, intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, medical fragility, developmental delays, or multiple disabilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide care for chronic and acute medically fragile students, ages 3-21, in a classroom setting, including, but not limited to:
Administration of medication
Managing seizures
Administration of g-tubes
Provide support during instructional activities in the classroom during whole group, small group, and individual sessions as directed by the lead teacher in order to support all students’ inclusion and access to learning
Provide consultation to other team members about students’ medical needs
Provide consistent care for assigned students through reliable attendance
