What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at TEC Group, Inc.?
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting, budgeting, and month-end/year-end close procedures
- Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies aligned with GAAP and regulatory standards
- Lead and mentor the accounting team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and productivity
- Partner with leadership to improve financial performance, develop forecasts, and implement operational strategies
- Prepare income statements, balance sheets, variance analysis, and reporting packages for senior leadership
- Maintain cost center structures and perform management reporting with budget variance analysis
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, including audit and tax filings
- Collaborate with global teams and participate in international initiatives, including initial onboarding in Germany
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years in a senior accounting or finance management role
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Experience in payroll, cost accounting, and ERP/accounting systems
- Strong financial analysis skills and experience working with multinational operations
- Ability to travel internationally for onboarding and training (2–4 weeks); must have or be able to obtain a passport
