Description
The senior voice engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the voice system. The system includes currently 2 Cisco call manager clusters, Cisco Emergency Responder, and Unity voicemail systems globally.
This role will ensure maximum uptime is achieved of the voice system for our end users (customers). Reliability is crucial. They will architect and configure with security in mind, maintaining vendors' best practices. The ideal candidate will have high attention for customer service. They will also work closely with LAN and WAN teams to optimize the performance of the VOIP systems. They will work with vendors to open, troubleshoot, and achieve a final resolution of tickets in a timely manner.
Provide high-level support for voice issues, working with tier 1 techs to troubleshoot and resolve tickets. Follow change management procedures to mitigate production outages. Monitor VOIP systems and be proactive in mitigating issues before they become widespread. Implementing and maintaining a DR plan. Engage in projects and achieve completion in the required timeframe.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Cisco voice products
- 5 years designing / implementing / troubleshooting with Cisco Call Manager
- 5 years working with Cisco Voice Gateways, Analog routers, CUBE's, other Clients
- SIP trunking with 3rd party service providers
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with various IT teams
- Ability to guide and mentor lower tier technicians
- Required to build BOM for replacement equipment
- Create / maintain Microsoft Visios for network diagrams, call flows, Auto Attendants
- Time Management
- Availability to work off hours for upgrades, maintenance, etc
