Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Inside Sales Representative to join our sales team. In this role, you will work closely with customers to identify their needs, provide product recommendations, process orders, and maintain relationships. You will be the go-to person for product information and sales support for our customers, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction and contributing to the growth of TEC Utilities Supply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support & Sales: Engage with customers via phone, email, and in-person to identify needs, provide product recommendations, and offer solutions to contractors, plumbers, municipalities, maintenance crews, and homeowners.
- Order Processing: Process orders accurately and efficiently using our sales system. Ensure timely order fulfillment, track inventory levels, and coordinate with logistics to ensure delivery schedules are met.
- Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of our products (pipe, valves, fittings, and related materials) and use this knowledge to educate and assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
- Relationship Building: Build and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing customers. Provide excellent customer service, follow up on orders, and address any concerns or issues that arise.
- Sales Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, orders, and sales activities in the CRM system. Prepare quotes, sales reports, and forecasts as needed.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the outside sales team, warehouse, and management to ensure a seamless customer experience and resolve any order or inventory issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inside sales, customer service, or a similar role, preferably in the construction, utilities, or industrial supply industry.
- Knowledge of pipe, valve, and fitting products (or the willingness to learn) is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and CRM software (Epicor Prophet21). Experience with reading blueprints and material takeoffs is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar distributor or supplier role in the utilities or construction industry.
- Familiarity with water and sewer systems or plumbing is a plus.
