TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA) is a tuition-free, Commonwealth of Massachusetts virtual public school for students in grades K–12 statewide. TECCA opened for the 2014–15 school year with approval by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Summary of Position:
The ELA Interventionist will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:
Work with Middle School students to provide interventions, instruction, and enrichment in area of ELA
Provides direct, targeted small group and one on one instruction as part of tiered ELA interventions that incorporate best practices and collaborates with grade level teachers to facilitate whole group lessons
Utilizes formative and summative assessment data regularly to develop flexible/fluid student groupings based on skill level and to plan and execute small group and one on one lessons
Consults frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to ELA instruction and support
Supports teachers with learning and implementing instructional strategies that reach a diverse range of learners
Reviews assessment data, including MCAS and STAR 360
Supports and promotes student learning by providing direct targeted instruction to specific students
Conducts one-on-one check-ins with students
Works with the classroom teachers to monitor student progress
Keeps caretakers and learning coaches informed of student progress
Participate, attend, and present at grade level and department meetings
Other Duties as assigned by the school principal
