School Summary: TEC Connections Academy Commonwealth Virtual School (TECCA CMVS) is a full-time tuition-free virtual public school district that employs over 200 faculty and staff, and serve 3,000 students across grades K-12 across Massachusetts. TECCA opened for the 2014–15 school year with approval by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
TECCA is in the process of initiating a secure electronic health record system. We are seeking candidates who preferably have experience with SNAP and can fulfill the responsibilities listed below. Hours are flexible.
Temporary School Nurse Job Responsibilities
● Comply with the code of ethics of the nursing profession and uphold and implement school protocols and policies and state laws and regulations
● Initiate student cumulative health records in SNAP
● Enter all pertinent health record information, including immunizations, and communicate with parents as needed to obtain any lacking documentation
● Assess student health records to determine specific healthcare needs and create appropriate Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) and Emergency Action Plan (EAP) to be used during in-person school experiences
● Generate SNAP reports as needed
● Communicate any ongoing health record gaps or concerns with the School Nurse Leader ● Communicate with parents and medical professionals as needed while adhering to FERPA and HIPAA as appropriate
● Other duties as assigned
