Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Network Switch Technician to support our team in maintaining and upgrading network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the tasks related to network switch maintenance, including hardware replacement, system processing, and ensuring the smooth operation of all related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ticket Management: Receive and process assigned tickets to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Part Collection: Collect necessary parts as listed in the ticket for replacement or maintenance.
- Rack Location: Navigate to the designated rack location specified in the ticket.
- Un-cabling and Removal: Un-cable network switches and safely remove them from the rack.
- Hardware Replacement: Open the switch and locate faulty components such as SSDs and DIMMs. Replace faulty parts as required.
- Logical Transactions: Process logical transactions within the ticketing system to reflect the replacement of SSDs and DIMMs.
- Reassembly and Re-racking: Close the switch, re-rack, and re-cable the switch in its designated position.
- Provisioning Coordination: Notify the provisioning team to begin the necessary provisioning steps once the physical setup is completed.
- Daily Ticket Completion: Continue the process for each assigned ticket, ensuring completion of all tasks for the day.
- ERAD Location Processing: Go to the ERAD location for logical processing of SSDs.
- Defective Parts Handling: Return defective DIMMs to the appropriate shelf and process them logically.
Requirements:
- Experience in network switch maintenance and hardware troubleshooting.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Basic understanding of networking equipment and components such as SSDs, DIMMs, and network switches.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with other teams, such as provisioning.
