Scope of Work:
Infrastructure Management:
- Manage and support servers, storage, networking equipment, and other physical infrastructure
- Ensure proper server configurations, installation, and maintenance.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting to ensure uptime.
Data Center Operations:
- Monitor and ensure the health, security, and performance of systems and data center equipment.
- Conduct regular system audits and assess compliance with organizational policies and best practices.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly checks of data center hardware and software.
- Manage data center resources, including backup, disaster recovery, and storage management.
Network Management:
- Work closely with network engineers to manage network connections, routing, and performance.
- Ensure high availability and low latency across all systems and services.
- Troubleshoot network and connectivity issues within the data center.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Use monitoring tools to identify and address potential issues before they affect performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to escalations and incidents within the data center.
Capacity Planning & Scaling:
- Assist with capacity planning and scaling to accommodate business growth.
- Work on resource optimization, ensuring efficient usage of space, power, and cooling within the data center.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and incident reports.
- Generate performance reports and suggest improvements based on metrics.
- Keep track of warranties, support contracts, and service renewals.
Security & Compliance:
- Ensure the physical and virtual security of all systems and data stored in the data center.
- Participate in audits to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, etc.).
Collaboration:
- Work with cross-functional teams including IT, operations, and development teams to implement and improve data center solutions.
- Assist in planning and executing new data center builds, migrations, and upgrades.
