About the Role:
The Data Center Technician II is a key member of the 24x7x365 operations team responsible for the operations, repair, and maintenance of critical facilities infrastructure supporting IT compute environments. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide training, guidance, and transfer of knowledge to associate technicians.
- Lead, maintain, monitor, and perform preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Operate and maintain routine and emergency services on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, rooftop HVAC, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Assist other team members with major repairs and maintenance of building, grounds, and equipment.
- Process work orders for preventative and corrective maintenance on critical, building, and site infrastructure.
Requirements:
- 10 years of relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment, commercial utilities Plant operations or 6 years equivalent Technical (Military/Trade School) training and/or experience.
- 8 years of experience with advanced understanding of the electrical or mechanical systems involved in critical data center operations.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent GED.
- Virginia State Certification Master Mechanical/HVAC with CFC recovery certification.
