Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CTE (Career and Technical Education) Coordinator to oversee and manage hands-on lab facilitation and the development of new CTE courses. The successful candidate will collaborate with school staff, instructors, and industry partners to design, implement, and continuously improve CTE programs, ensuring that students receive high-quality, practical learning experiences in various technical fields. This individual will also be responsible for ensuring the alignment of curricula with industry standards and preparing students for career success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hands-On Lab Facilitation:
- Lead and manage the planning, setup, and operation of hands-on CTE labs.
- Ensure labs are properly equipped, safe, and conducive to a productive learning environment.
- Collaborate with instructors to ensure effective use of lab facilities and tools for practical skills development.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students during lab activities, supporting their hands-on learning experiences.
- Maintain safety protocols and ensure that students and staff adhere to industry standards for safety and equipment use.
- Evaluate and assess students' practical skills through lab-based assignments and projects.
- New CTE Class Development:
- Collaborate with school administration, industry professionals, and instructors to develop new CTE courses that align with current industry needs and standards.
- Research emerging trends and technologies in relevant fields to ensure the CTE curriculum remains up-to-date and competitive including potential virtual program.
- Help develop assessments and learning activities that allow students to demonstrate their understanding and skills in a practical setting.
- Ensure that new courses are designed with a balance of theory and hands-on instruction to meet educational and career-readiness goals.
- Program Coordination & Support:
- Coordinate and manage the day-to-day operations of CTE programs, ensuring effective scheduling, resource allocation, and communication among all stakeholders.
- Work closely with teachers and staff to monitor student progress, identify areas of improvement, and provide additional support as necessary.
- Facilitate professional development opportunities for CTE instructors to ensure high-quality teaching practices and continued growth.
- Serve as a liaison between students, instructors, school administration, and local businesses or industry partners to promote CTE programs and opportunities.
- Industry Partnerships & Collaboration:
- Cultivate partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and industry professionals to ensure the CTE curriculum aligns with real-world needs.
- Organize industry visits, guest speakers, internships, and work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with state and federal CTE regulations, guidelines, and funding requirements.
- Track and report on student outcomes, program success, and areas for improvement to school leadership and other stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing reports for accreditation and program evaluation purposes.
- Marketing & Growth
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote CTE programs to students, parents, and the community.
- Create outreach materials, including brochures, social media content, and website updates, to highlight program offerings and success stories.
- Organize and participate in recruitment events, open houses, and career fairs to increase student enrollment in CTE programs.
- Foster relationships with local businesses, and community partners to enhance program visibility and support.
- Identify and pursue grant opportunities and funding sources to expand and enhance CTE offerings.
Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in CTE program coordination, curriculum development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of hands-on learning environments and technical lab operations.
- Experience in designing and implementing CTE courses that meet industry standards and prepare students for success.
- Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including students, teachers, parents, industry partners, and school administration.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices for hands-on technical education environments.
- Familiarity with current trends, technologies, and standards in relevant industry sectors.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Part-time position, primarily based in a classroom and hands-on lab setting.
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required for special events, meetings, or training sessions.
- May involve occasional travel to industry sites, conferences, or community outreach activities.
