Position: Construction Project Manager
Duration: 12 Months contract
10 years of construction management experience required.
Active DOE Q Clearance and Nuclear Experience are mandatory.
Description:
The ideal candidate will serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for planning, budgeting, managing, and controlling costs and schedule performance for a project or subproject.
Serve as the point of contact for project controls, including account scope, schedule, budget, and technical performance.
Ensure work packages realistically represent the duration and budget necessary to perform work and perform variance analysis reviews.
Determine cause and effect of schedule or cost variance and define achievable corrective action plans.
Present project management performance plans, status updates, trends, or issues to federal sponsors.
Proven leadership and management skills to organize, direct, and control a team of workers.
Advanced experience managing construction projects, including proactively managing project scope, schedule, and budget.
Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) knowledge is essential.
Identify project risks, develop risk mitigation strategies, and recommend risk acceptance/avoidance for all aspects of a project.
Lead constructability reviews of the design process and its potential impacts on construction cost and schedule.
Extensive knowledge and experience with facility maintenance and/or construction management.
Knowledge of systems engineering design and maintenance, safety/authorization basis, configuration management programs, work control, and facility control systems.
Understanding of collective bargaining agreements related to all trades.
Ability to understand and interpret physical, mechanical, and electrical documents, blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
Establish and maintain strong customer engagement and interface with program, project, and line management.
Provide personal leadership, direction, and technical advice regarding health, safety, and environmental compliance.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to utilize and manipulate computerized work management systems in maintaining and tracking job activities.
Position typically requires a recognized degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, or specialized courses in project management, and ten (10) years work experience.
