Key Responsibilities:
Sensitivity Label Classification and Application:
- Classify and apply sensitivity labels to SharePoint documents, sites, and libraries based on their level of sensitivity (e.g., Public, Confidential, Highly Confidential).
- Ensure that labels are aligned with organizational policies and compliance regulations for data protection.
Label Creation and Management:
- Create and configure sensitivity labels within the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center or the Microsoft Purview portal.
- Manage and maintain labels, ensuring they are properly applied across SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 apps (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Implement features like encryption, access control, watermarking, and automatic label application to protect sensitive data.
- Ensure that labels are correctly enforced for authorized access and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and adjust document and site behaviors once sensitivity labels are applied, ensuring that permissions are automatically adjusted based on the classification.
- Manage sharing settings and restrictions based on the applied labels (e.g., limiting sharing for confidential documents).
- Apply sensitivity labels to entire SharePoint sites (team sites or communication sites) to ensure site-wide content protection.
- Ensure that all documents and data within a labeled site are classified and protected according to the sensitivity level.
- Enforce compliance policies for handling sensitive data across SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 applications.
- Ensure that all labeling practices adhere to organizational and regulatory compliance standards.
- Set up automated labeling rules within the Microsoft 365 Compliance Center to apply labels based on content types, keywords, metadata, or other criteria.
- Regularly review and update automatic labeling configurations to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in working with Microsoft 365 Compliance tools, specifically Sensitivity Labels and Microsoft Purview.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint, document libraries, and information management policies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and data classification principles.
- Ability to configure and manage sensitivity labels across SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 apps.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365 Compliance or SharePoint.
- Experience with automated labeling and content management strategies in Microsoft 365.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT, security, and compliance departments.
