Position Overview:
The Vertical Market Account Executive (VMAE) is organized around accounts within a vertical market/segment such as Education, Healthcare, Government, etc. The VMAE is expected to have an in-depth understanding of their assigned markets and/or customer's business needs, the buying centers for Tech's products and services, and how Tech's products and services can help achieve their business goals, solve their business problems, and satisfy their business needs. The VMAE becomes the "Trusted Advisor" among all buying centers within an assigned account, ensuring that those buying centers choose the products and services offered by Tech Electronics.
Functions of the Job:
Vertical Account Executive Role:
- Develops and cultivates relationships with accounts within the assigned Vertical Market to grow accounts into Assigned Accounts and then into Strategic Accounts for Tech.
- Achieves assigned sales objectives for each product line.
- Develops and executes a Vertical Market Sales and Marketing Plan for accounts within the assigned vertical market.
- Accomplishes the objectives set forth in the Circulate and Balance plan for each assigned account among all buying centers of Tech's products and services.
- Enters items into Tech's Sales database to capture and describe all activities within Assigned Accounts.
- Acquires an in-depth understanding of the customer's business needs and how Tech's products and services can address these needs.
- Identifies the buying centers within assigned accounts, their buying behaviors, budgets, and needs.
- Identifies potential short and long-term buying cycles for assigned accounts that might include our systems or services.
- Maximizes account revenue within the assigned market, across all of Tech's systems and services.
General Sales Functions:
- Understands all of Tech's systems and services and has a thorough knowledge of the applications for the systems and services including all respective "sales ready messages".
- Joins and actively participates in associations or membership organizations of the Assigned Accounts and vertical market.
- Continues to educate oneself in the science of selling by attending sales programs as defined by the Director of Business Development.
- Updates Tech's Sales database with the most current account information and market intelligence.
- Facilitates and assists in coordinating seminars and presentations on Tech's systems and services.
Position Qualification Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related Business field or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
- Two years of outside sales experience.
- Two years of experience using computer systems, including MS Office.
- Highly preferred: Background in voice, data, alarm, and/or video.
