Role: Scrum Master/Project Manager
Location: Alpharetta, GA. Onsite
W2 position
The Scrum Master serves as a facilitator, coach, and servant leader, accountable for ensuring that the Scrum team follows the principles and practices of Lean-Agile Scrum to deliver value effectively and efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
- A servant leader, focused on serving the Scrum team and removing any impediments or obstacles that hinder their progress. They work to create an environment in which the team can be self-organized and empowered.
- Responsible for guiding the team through the Lean-Agile Scrum framework. This can include facilitating Scrum ceremonies such as Daily Standup meetings, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective. They help the team understand and adhere to Scrum roles, events, and artifacts.
- Coaches the team in Lean-Agile and Scrum principles and practices. They help team members continually improve their skills and work processes, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Identify and eliminate impediments that may hinder the team's progress. This can involve anything from addressing team conflicts to ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and resources. When necessary, Scrum master’s escalate impediment removal to the proper levels of management and may need to escalate while attending a Scrum-of-Scrums if scaling.
- Promote self-organization within the team. They encourage team members to make decisions collectively and take responsibility for their work
- Shield the team from external interference and distractions so that they can focus on delivering value during the sprint.
- Responsible for facilitating regular retrospectives, during which the team reflects on their processes and identifies areas for improvement. They help the team implement changes to enhance their productivity and effectiveness.
- Act as a bridge between the development team and stakeholders, ensuring that both parties have a clear understanding of each other's needs and expectations. In such scenarios, Scrum master’s become the face of the team to the business and stakeholders.
- Assist in resolving conflicts and disagreements within the team and encourage open and constructive communication among team members.
- Maintain transparency by ensuring that Scrum artifacts, such as the product backlog and sprint backlog, are visible and up to date. They also help the team use relevant metrics to track progress and value.
- Promote the Agile values and principles throughout the organization and foster a culture of agility.
