TMB, Inc has an exciting opportunity to prepare you to become part of a highly skilled workforce to create a career pathway into the U.S. Navy Logistics (LOG) competency. Our Apprenticeship program offers a training strategy that prepares individuals with skills to compete in today’s economy.
During the 1-year Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) Apprenticeship, Apprentices are assigned with a LOG Lead with a Ship Program Office or a Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization and Sustainment Program Office. The LOG Lead will be instrumental in providing their firsthand knowledge and experience, follow a training curriculum and give hands on training and experience of what Logisticians do for the Navy, and act as a sounding board relating to career goals and development in becoming a Logistician.
Upon completing the Apprenticeship, an individual may have the opportunity to join the team as a full-time Logistics Analyst.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-demand timely professional support services to the Navy Shipbuilding Program Offices within Team Ships at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in Washington, DC during the 1-year program starting Summer of 2025.
- The Apprentice will be exposed to Team Ships Life Cycle Logistics management and the DOD/Navy budget process, learn financial management competencies, and develop skill sets that will provide value to the program offices and contribute to the workforce.
- Understand the role of Navy Acquisition in Defense and Logistics.
- Understand DoD procurement regulations, appropriations law and fiscal policy as they apply to multi-year acquisition programs.
- Be introduced to Integrated Product Support (IPS) and the relationship of logistics elements to each other, hardware product, acquisition and sustainment, and related functions such as standardization, configuration management, and systems suitability and supportability.
- Understand Navy Logistics systems and what each system is used for (e.g., CDMS, ERP, ICAPS).
- Gain access and pull data from Navy Logistics systems (e.g., CDMS, ERP, ICAPS).
- Understand Outfitting Funding Execution Strategy.
- Understand Logistics business planning requirements and Team Ships Logistics strategy.
- Interface with the government customers and other contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience with an honorable service discharge preferred.
- Recent graduates with some professional experience in Supply Chain Management or Lifecycle Logistics including internships preferred.

- Must be a United States citizen.
- Must possess an active DOD Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
- Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
