Job Description
We are seeking an organized, reliable, and driven 1099 Cable Technician to join our field service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing various voice and data cables in both residential and commercial environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality service and enjoys tackling complex problems and challenges.
Coverage Areas:
- North Carolina: Charlotte, Matthews, Concord, Mint Hill, Hickory, Gastonia, Monroe, Huntersville, Iredell County
- South Carolina: Spartanburg, Greenville, Anderson
- Tennessee: Nashville, Clarksville
Cable Technician Role:
- Install drops, outlets, converters, cable modems, digital terminals, and other cable system devices.
- Perform tasks that require standing for long periods, lifting over 70 lbs, crawling into small spaces, and working in various climates.
- Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to work on routers, PC hardware, software, and the Internet.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Comply with all safety requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Follow established assembly instructions for fiber optic cables and products.
- Pass a background check, as you will be entering customer homes and businesses.
- Adapt roles and responsibilities as needed to accommodate changing business needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair cable systems, primarily for television and internet services.
- Test and troubleshoot network communication issues.
- Conduct thorough inspections of cable lines to ensure proper functionality.
- Communicate and collaborate with field service team members to resolve complex issues.
- Provide high-quality service to all customers.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- 1099 Position (Independent Contractor)
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
- Must have own truck or van (vehicle not provided).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to adhering to OSHA and all other safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to identify different colors.
- Ability to work at heights and lift 70 pounds.
Compensation & Payment Details:
- Piece rate job (paid per completed job/service).
- First pay is 3 weeks out, with payments every Friday thereafter.
- Pay range: $54,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year (based on performance and workload).
