Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) for a challenging production support role. Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL Server databases in production environments.
Ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security for database systems.
Implement and monitor database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
Plan and perform database upgrades, migrations, and patching for SQL Server 2012 and newer versions.
Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and identifying bottlenecks.
Collaborate with application developers and other stakeholders to address database-related issues.
Proactively monitor system performance to identify potential risks or anomalies.
Document database standards, procedures, and best practices for production environments.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
10 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database administration.
In-depth knowledge of SQL Server versions 2012 and later.
Expertise in backup and recovery strategies, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
Strong understanding of database security, roles, and permissions.
Experience in high-availability and disaster recovery solutions like AlwaysOn, replication, or clustering.
Proficiency in T-SQL and scripting for automation.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator or similar.
