Position Overview
The Project Coordinator II is responsible for managing the execution of providing gas and electric services to residential and commercial/industrial customers. This role requires in-depth knowledge of Gas and/or Electric Distribution Systems and the ability to coordinate projects efficiently from initial scoping to completion. The Project Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring project delivery aligns with customer needs and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the face of Consumers Energy to customers, coordinating work among the customer, company teams, and external stakeholders.
- Manage project scopes, estimate customer/system loads, and update customers on project status.
- Generate tasks for other departments, provide cost estimates, and identify required permits.
- Coordinate the design, scheduling, and field construction phases of projects.
- Evaluate and analyze distribution design requirements, directing the preparation of work orders.
- Ensure project prerequisites are met for successful distribution project completion.
- Conduct fieldwork, including on-site meetings with customers, as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications

- Proficiency with computer systems and software, including:
- Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD)
- SAP and other relevant systems
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Valid driver's license required.
Educational Requirements
- Associate degree in a scientific or technical field (48 scientific/technical semester credit hours), OR
- Completion of two years of college coursework (60 semester credits) toward a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Consumers Energy policies and procedures.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to anticipate the impact of actions on multiple systems.
Additional Notes
- Fieldwork may be required to meet with customers on-site.
- The candidate must manage project milestones effectively and align tasks with internal quality control processes.
