Title : GIS Competition Analyst
Location : Remote
Duration : 10-month contract with extension
Essential Functions
- Responsibilities, include, but not limited to :
- Work closely with departments within the
- Green Power Business Development group, including Project Development, Environmental & Permitting, Meteorology, Real Estate and Acquisitions & Structuring.
- Provide GIS and cartographic support to Business Development, including the generation of production quality maps.
- Create and edit accurate GIS data and maintain spatial databases.
- Research and evaluate public and private datasets to inform the siting of renewable energy.
- Perform formal and informal research regarding industry competition projects, interconnection request filings, ownership stakes, and energy markets; environmental and site-specific constraints; zoning & permitting requirements at the city / county / state level; transmission capacity and energy pricing; analyze the above to determine status and maturity, viability, and economics of projects in the market and act as an expert on all tasks pertaining to the above.
- Research government records and online databases and analyze findings to determine land interests.
- Integrate research findings into GIS and tabular databases for spatial analysis by the competition analyst.
- Prepare products and deliverables for regular presentation to decision-makers and decision-making bodies.
- Import and analyze data submitted by development managers and land acquisition agents related to trusts, probates, corporate entities, and conveyance documents, to determine and confirm execution authority of contracts.
- Work with a software development team to assist in testing applications and tools that assist in automating workflows.
