Overview:

As a leading eWaste recycler in Missouri, the Tech Remove, LLC Warehouse Manager is responsible for administering and supporting various eWaste processes, including: receiving, inventory management, fulfillment, safety, and facility maintenance. Tech Remove is supposed to be a well-oiled machine that embraces a lean culture of 5S, Lean, and the 8-Wastes to remain an industry leader. The Warehouse Manager is exceptionally detail-oriented, a problem solver, and a supporter of core business functions simultaneously.

Objectives:
The Warehouse Manager will ensure Tech Remove’s facility are operating at peak efficiency by:

  • Supervising, organizing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
  • Meeting Ownership goals and timelines for daily intake, maintenance, and fulfillment operations. This includes routine and special requests.
  • Determine product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, inventory, gate processes, and shipping methods to develop warehouse operations systems.
  • Train and manage the warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues as directed by ownership.
  • Oversee daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics.
  • Review and prepare workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
  • Establish and enforce standards and procedures and comply with legal regulations to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • As determined by ownership and event requirements, assist Collection Events with planning, travel, execution, and post-event activities.

Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Manager has daily pre-operational, normal, and post-operational duties as noted below. These responsibilities may include exceptions as directed by the owner to meet or exceed customer expectations or goals.

Pre-Operational Duties

  • Arrive before the rest of the team and prepare each station for work each day before the team starts.
  • Compile previous days reporting metrics. Identify who made their goals and who did not. Identify trends of success and failure and seek to remedy failure with direct leadership intervention.
  • Eliminate Safety concerns before staff arrive for the day (ie. broken glass, trip hazards, piles on the floor, nails, sharp objects, aisle hazards, etc.)
  • Empty Any Full Trash or scrap containers to facilitate the safe, clean, and orderly operation of TechRemove’s facilities
  • Replace any work material as needed so staff can start immediately upon arrival.
  • Ensure that staff have the necessary materials and paperwork needed to begin their day (for example, shipping has proper paperwork to start to pull, pack, and ship orders. Drivers have proper paperwork and tags for inbound pickups, and sorting has all the appropriate tags needed to start sorting effectively)

Normal Operation

  • Manage and facilitate the operations of the TechRemove warehouse, including sort staff, second sort, shipping, and fulfillment.
  • Facilitate the proper check-in, grading, recording, and reporting of all inbound and outbound material.
  • Enter and create reports related to inbound and outbound material flow
  • Direct and support the safe, efficient, and effective operation of scrap and resale operations, including management and facilitation of the material handling and flow of inbound, WIP, and outbound materials.
  • Label, stage, and inventory inbound, outbound, and wip materials
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory for raw material, wip, and processed materials
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory for finished goods
  • File and manage damage claims with shipping companies, LTL, and FTL companies
  • Oversee and facilitate the booking, follow-up, staging, and loading of inbound and outbound truckload shipments
  • Ensure the proper preparedness for in-town and out-of-town collection events
  • Travel, administration, facilitation, and return from collection events
  • Occasional Driving of medium-duty commercial vehicles not exceeding a 26 ft non-cdl box truck
  • Operation of material handling equipment, including a pallet jack, forklift, etc. to ensure proper facilitation of TechRemove’s warehouse operations.
  • Document and report safety incidents as needed.
  • Maintaining and managing the clean, orderly, and safe operation of TechRemove’s facilities
  • Ensure warehouse and fulfillment staff follow all procedures related to their job duties.
  • Make recommendations to HR for disciplinary action as required.
  • Complete any tasks designated by ownership as required
  • Ensure accurate reporting on various process metrics, inventory, completed work, etc. as specified by management or otherwise.
  • Regular weekend after-hours travel is required to sites throughout Missouri and Kansas.
  • Ensure that teammates are submitting a daily improvement video for 5S;

Post-Operations

  • Conduct end-of-day walk-thru to ensure all facility doors are secured for the end of the shift.
  • Ensure that items pointed out in Gemba walks are completed (i.e. sort, set, shine, standardize, and sustain the dock, the warehouse, sort, and shipping lines).
  • Assist in the return of rental machines as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

The Warehouse Manager will have a Minimum of a High School Diploma.

The Warehouse Manager will have experience as an assistant manager or manager who operated in a production, goal, and environment a minimum of 2 years. P

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Warehousing management, fulfillment, Logistics or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with warehouse procedures and policies
  • 3PL Experience, working with freight brokers, scheduling, loading and unloading trucks on docks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of company staff
  • Ability to deliver effective feedback, both written and verbal
  • Can hold the team accountable for being on time, being present and accounted for, and meeting production goals.

Reporting & Supervision

The Warehouse Manager reports directly to the owner. He will work directly with consultants, human resources, operations managers and other support roles as directed by the owner to fulfill their duties. The Warehouse Manager has direct supervision over the sort and fulfillment lines associates.

Compensation

The warehouse manager will have a salary between $40,000 to $45,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

FLSA status

Pursuant to Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Part 541 Section 13(a)(1) an executive exemption is noted because the role meets the following criteria:

  • Annual Salary >= $35,000
  • Manage one of Tech Remove’s Strategic Business Units (SBUs) in the Warehouse.
  • The Warehouse Manager leads employees on the sort line and in fulfillment. The number of employees fluctuates seasonally.
  • The warehouse manager recommends to the owner hiring, disciplinary, firing, and advancement of associates within Tech Remove.

Hours

Exempt employees are generally expected to work more than 40 hours a week. The general expected daily working hours are 0800-1730 (08:00AM-5:30PM) Monday through Friday, with approximately 2 Saturdays per Month for either site projects or events, subject to adjustment by ownership.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
