What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Specialist position at TECH SYSTEMS INC?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, tools, or products and updates stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard using such MHE as forklift, walkie stacker, pallet jack, platform truck, and storage aids. Loads and unloads shipments at staging and receiving areas. Transports materials and items between receiving point and storage point using MHE.
Sorts and places material or items in defined storage locations using identifying information. Counts, sorts, or weighs incoming Articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice. Examines received stock to verify conformance to specifications. Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools or other stock items for issue to requester. Stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material. Maintains traceability to procurement documentation. May mark or remark materials. Opens bales, crates and other containers using hand tools. Assembles orders from stock and marks items with identifying information. Reads work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed. Prepares material for delivery to ensure required schedules are met. Coordinates, prepares, and conducts periodic, special, cyclic, or perpetual inventory of stock.
Inputs data on adjustments of inventory counts to computerized stock records. Notes spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments. May mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles. May distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued. May cut stock to size to fill order. May assemble, disassemble, move, place-identifying markings on, or repair storage aids. May be required to assemble wooden crates and fiberboard boxes in preparation for loading material. May drive a van, pick-up, or automobile to make local pick-up and deliveries. Informs supervisor or other appropriate personnel of low stock. Performs minor and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and tools. Performs other tasking consistent with experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to listen, learn, and communicate.
· Good time management skills to meet/complete daily tasks and timelines,
· Flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes or restructure of priorities based on client needs,
· Ability to read, understand, and communicate all Standard Operating Procedures,
· Able to work overtime as needed,
· Must be dependable, reliable, and able to work and in teams.
· Must be physically able to lift and move up to 75 lbs.
· Must have a High School diploma (or equivalent).
· Must have an appropriate Secret Security clearance or be able to obtain one.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
· May be required to operate PCs using various logistics and office application programs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Monday through Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm.
· No travel required,
· Must use proper PPE and follow all safety guidelines and regulations,
· Must be able to lift, reach and place containers and bins in its appropriate location.
EXPERIENCE:
· Prior warehouse experience required.
EDUCATION:
· High School diploma or GED
