Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide through innovative technology education programs. We offer specialized tech training including NextGen AI Business and Marketing for youth entrepreneurs and Tech It Easy for training seniors how to navigate tech, creating meaningful connections across generations while building essential digital skills. Our App Development track students learn to design, code, and publish their own mobile applications.
Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled and patient Tech Education Facilitator for App Development Intern to lead our summer business tech camp focused on teaching students how to create and market mobile applications. In this role, you'll guide campers through the entire app development lifecycle—from conceptualization and design to coding, testing, and publishing to app stores. This position offers an excellent opportunity to share your technical expertise while helping young developers build valuable skills that can launch their careers or entrepreneurial journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum on mobile app development fundamentals, including programming concepts, UI/UX design principles, and app store optimization
- Teach coding skills using relevant languages and frameworks (Swift/Xcode for iOS and/or Java/Kotlin for Android)
- Guide students through the process of designing user-friendly interfaces and creating positive user experiences
- Instruct campers on app testing methodologies, debugging techniques, and quality assurance practices
- Provide hands-on training for app store submission processes, including meeting guidelines and requirements for Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store
- Mentor students on app monetization strategies, marketing approaches, and building a user base
- Facilitate discussions on identifying app market opportunities and validating app ideas
- Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback throughout the program
- Collaborate with other instructors to ensure a cohesive learning experience across program tracks
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in mobile app development, with proficiency in Swift/XCode and/or Android development environments
- Knowledge of UI/UX design principles for mobile applications
- Understanding of app store submission processes and requirements
- Experience with app marketing and monetization strategies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain complex technical concepts in accessible ways
- Experience teaching or mentoring youth (ages 13-21) preferred
- Patience and enthusiasm for helping beginners learn coding and development skills
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Must consent to random drug testing as per foundation policy
- Reliable transportation to our Cincinnati location

Travel Requirements
Our positions require mobility and travel. Youth classes are conducted at local high schools or education buildings, not at our main office. Similarly, Tech It Easy classes are held off-site at nursing homes and adult care facilities throughout Cincinnati. However once you are assigned to an education building that will serve as your primary location. As an intern, you will be expected to travel to these various work sites and will only report to our main office once per week for team meetings and administrative tasks. Therefore, all applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel approximately 25% of their work time. Additionally, our networking events and special programs are typically held at convention centers in the Cincinnati area. Reliable transportation is essential for this position, as you'll need to transport materials and equipment between locations. Please consider these travel requirements carefully before applying.
