About Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation
Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide through innovative technology education programs. We offer specialized tech training including NextGen AI Business and Marketing for youth entrepreneurs and Tech It Easy for training seniors how to navigate tech, creating meaningful connections across generations while building essential digital skills. Our Drone Discovery track students learn drone piloting, aerial photography/videography, and how to leverage drone footage for marketing and business applications.
Position Overview
We're seeking a certified drone pilot and experienced instructor to lead our Drone Discovery youth tech summer camp. In this role, you'll teach students how to safely operate drones, capture compelling aerial footage, and use that content for marketing and business purposes. This position offers an excellent opportunity to share your technical expertise while helping young people develop valuable skills at the intersection of technology, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging curriculum on drone technology, safe flying practices, and FAA regulations
- Teach hands-on drone piloting skills, including takeoff, landing, navigation, and advanced flight maneuvers
- Guide students through aerial photography and videography techniques, including composition, camera settings, and flight planning for optimal shots
- Instruct campers on post-production editing of drone footage using relevant software
- Provide training on how to leverage drone content for marketing purposes, including social media, business promotion, and potential client services
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all drone operations
- Supervise students during flight sessions and provide constructive feedback to improve their skills
- Maintain drone equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and manage battery charging and storage
- Collaborate with other instructors to create cross-disciplinary learning opportunities
- Evaluate student progress throughout the program
Qualifications
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification (required)
- Demonstrated experience piloting drones and capturing aerial photography/videography
- Knowledge of drone regulations, safety protocols, and best practices
- Experience with video editing software for drone footage post-production
- Understanding of how drone content can be used for marketing and business applications
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Experience teaching or mentoring youth (ages 15-21) preferred
- Patience and enthusiasm for helping beginners learn technical skills
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Must consent to random drug testing as per foundation policy
- Reliable transportation to our Cincinnati location

Travel Requirements
Our positions require mobility and travel. Youth classes are conducted at local high schools or education buildings, not at our main office. Similarly, Tech It Easy classes are held off-site at nursing homes and adult care facilities throughout Cincinnati. As an intern, you will be expected to travel to these various work sites and will only report to our main office once per week for team meetings and administrative tasks. Therefore, all applicants must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel approximately 25% of their work time. Additionally, our networking events and special programs are typically held at convention centers in the Cincinnati area. Reliable transportation is essential for this position, as you'll need to transport materials and equipment between locations. Please consider these travel requirements carefully before applying.
