Tech Valley Talent (TVT) has an opening for a DevOps Platform/Tools Engineer.
DURATION: 6 months
LOCATION: Hybrid; Albany, New York - MUST work onsite every other Tues-Thurs
NO third parties - MUST work on our W2.
Seeking a DevOps Platform/Tools Engineer who specializes in Linux system administration. The primary responsibility of this role includes managing and optimizing a suite of DevOps and IT tools, such as Jira Cloud, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Tableau, etc., to ensure effective integration and maintenance within a Linux-based infrastructure. This position is critical in enhancing operational capabilities, as well as ensuring the efficiency and security of systems.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Extensive experience in Linux system administration, with a strong focus on managing complex environments.
Preferred experience includes familiarity with anyone of AWS, Azure, or other cloud services.
Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Shell script, PowerShell or Python.
Knowledge of DevOps tools like Git, Jenkins etc.
Hands-on experience with managing and administering Linux systems.
Day to Day Tasks
Manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with tooling and operational needs.
Take ownership of a wide range of DevOps and IT tools, overseeing their installation, configuration, maintenance, and integration in a Linux environment.
Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine tasks, enhance system performance, and ensure efficient operation of tools on Linux platforms.
Monitor system health and performance, rapidly identifying and resolving issues within tooling landscape and Linux systems.
Ensure that all tools and Linux systems comply with industry standards and regulations, particularly focusing on security best practices.
Provide expert-level support and guidance to other teams regarding tool usage and Linux system optimization.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tool management procedures, Linux system configurations, and best practices.
