Network Support Specialist
Location: Dahlgren NSF, VA
Clearance: TS/SCI (or eligible)
Certification: CompTIA Security (IAT Level II)
Shifts: M-F 0700-1500, On-Call 24/7/365
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot NIPRNet and SIPRNet networks.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, latency).
- Configure and maintain network hardware (Juniper, Cisco).
- Implement network security measures (firewalls, access control).
- Perform fault isolation, hardware repair, and OS/firmware installation.
- Manage network cabling and infrastructure.
- Provide on-call support for critical network services.
- Adhere to DISA STIGs, DoD 8140.03, and Air Force cybersecurity policies.
- Maintain the Building 1700 public address system.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship.
- TS/SCI clearance (or eligibility).
- CompTIA Security (IAT Level II).
- High school diploma with 1-3 years of network support experience.
- Experience with LAN, WAN, and Internet systems.
- Familiarity with classified information handling.
- Ability to respond to network failures within 30 minutes and initiate restoration within 2 hours.
- Knowledge of space surveillance network and satellite catalog (desirable).
