We are currently looking for a Quality Assurance Lab Technician. The position will work with other laboratory staff to deliver timely, quality test results, maintain laboratory testing equipment and provide skilled technical support. Requires flexibility to support all production shifts and will serve as a backup to the Senior Scientist and all other lab staff.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with laboratory team members to deliver accurate and timely test results, maintain testing equipment, and provide technical expertise.
- Support the Senior Lab Scientist in daily operations, ensuring the smooth functioning and upkeep of the QA Lab.
- Perform sampling and testing of raw and in-process materials, ensuring they meet specifications, and release approved materials for production.
- Review and approve data generated by laboratory staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Calibrate, verify, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure it meets or exceeds quality system requirements.
- Serve as a backup subject matter expert during facility inspections.
- Lead investigations into out-of-specification or suspect data, and implement corrective and preventive actions as necessary.
- Oversee inventory management for laboratory consumables, reagents, and equipment calibration schedules.
- Assist in the design and execution of laboratory experiments focused on method development, validation, and process improvements.
- Provide peer-to-peer training on new procedures, document revisions, and best practices in the lab.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment serving quality systems operations is preferred.
- You have hands-on experience with a variety of analytical techniques, including balance calibration, moisture analysis, refractometry, densimetry, colorimetry, and olfactory testing.
- You are proficient in operating and maintaining advanced instrumentation, such as HPLC, GC-FID, and FTIR.
- QMS experience is a plus.
- Experience with a GC or LC is preferred but not required.
- You possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and are comfortable using Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
- You have demonstrated expertise in analytical testing and leadership, with the ability to work independently.
- You are skilled at planning, prioritizing, and managing tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion of sampling and testing activities.
- You are comfortable with a physically demanding work environment, including standing for extended periods, climbing stairs or ladders, and lifting samples or equipment up to 50 pounds.
Education:
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology or a closely related discipline is preferred.
