Database Developer with Databricks

Position: Database Developer with Databricks and Pyspark Hybrid Role 3 days onsite

Location: Alpharetta, GA

Duration: 5 months Contract (Possibility for extension)

• We are seeking a skilled Oracle Developer/ PostgreSQL developer to assist with various database tasks including performance optimization, query tuning, data migration, and schema design
• The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and a strong understanding of SQL

Responsibilities

• You will be expected to troubleshoot issues and implement best practices to enhance our database performance

Optimize and refactor T-SQL stored procedures, functions, and scripts to PL/pgSQL.

• Design and implement cloud-based data solutions.
• Work closely with cloud engineers to facilitate a smooth migration.
• Utilize Databricks for data processing, ETL pipelines, and analytics.
• Ensure data integrity, performance tuning, and security compliance.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues post-migration.
• Document best practices, guidelines, and migration strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience in database development and administration.
• Hands-on experience with T-SQL and PL/pgSQL.
• Experience in cloud migration (AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Platform).
• Familiarity with Databricks (PySpark, SQL, or Scala).
• Proficiency in ETL development and data pipeline automation.
• Strong performance tuning and optimization skills.
• Knowledge of data security and compliance standards.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
