Job Description:
The Quality Assurance Manager will develop and lead quality assurance initiatives and processes that enhance the production of high-quality products while assuring compliance with company policies, food safety standards, third party regulations, and government regulations. Additionally, the QA Manager will:
YOUR IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Baking Science or Cereal Chemistry.
- Minimum 5 years quality assurance experience, with 3 years of supervisory experience.
- HACCP certification from a nationally recognized organization.
- Working knowledge of regulations and guidelines imposed by state and federal agencies and authorities.
- Act as the SQF Practitioner overseeing the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF system.
- Lead SQF audit, submit NCR responses as needed.
- Conduct management review meetings per schedule.
- Attend monthly supervisor meeting to review
- Lead Food Safety Audit team according to the team schedule.
- Lead internal audits.
- Serve as the on-site liaison with USDA, FDA and other regulatory officials, compliance auditors and other external personnel.
- Manage pest control program, personnel and associated documentation.
- Manage employee uniform rental program.
- Manage Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) assessments and reassessments.
- Lead the HACCP team.
- Manage daily pre-operational, operational and mid-shift inspections.
- Assure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
- Maintain document control listing.
- Assists HR Manager to determine employee training needs.
- Manage employee food safety training requirements, leads annual employee refresher training.
- Manage laboratory infrastructure including analytical methods and calibration programs.
- Oversee Product Quality utilizing key product / process attributes, sensory and quality metrics.
- Work with R&D to revise product specifications based on capability assessment.
- Manage the Quality Assurance Department, attend management staff meetings.
- Manage department budget planning to include QA, Sanitation and all responsible expenses. Develop annual department strategic goals and objectives and establish measurements to determine outcomes and results.
- Assist R & D in all product testing including sensory and shelf life.
- Manage Recall program and schedule and lead product trace exercises.
- Manage the QA department and sanitation budget.
- Assist in addressing and providing resolution to customer and vendor complaints.
- Develop and maintain Quality Manual.
- Maintain customer document sites: ICIX, Repositrak, SpecConnect as needed.
- Follow all good housekeeping measures, Safety, GMP’s and Food Safety Policies.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,248.00 - $80,766.00 per year
