We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a long-term hybrid contract, with 80% remote work and 20% onsite in Austin, Texas. This position performs advanced business analysis work and may support multiple projects or special assignments as needed. The business analyst acts as the bridge between the program/customer community and the software development team, facilitating the flow of requirements throughout the entire software development life cycle. After establishing the requirements baseline, the role focuses on managing requirements specifications and verifying the fulfillment of all requirements, including those for post-implementation enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
• Elicit requirements through interviews with customers and create well-documented system requirements.
• Collaborate with the software development team to ensure requirements are understood and implemented effectively.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Re-engineer business processes and improve software process flows to enhance efficiency.
• Develop user stories and use cases following business analysis best practices.
• Design mockups and wireframes that align with UX best practices.
• Manage and verify requirements specifications to ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders and project teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
Minimum Qualifications
• 8 years of experience eliciting requirements through customer interviews and creating detailed system requirements documents.
• 8 years of experience with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• 8 years of experience in business process re-engineering and software process flow improvement.
• 8 years of experience developing user stories and use cases according to best practices.
• 8 years of experience designing mockups and wireframes that adhere to UX standards.
• 5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
• 5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• 3 years of experience with requirements management software such as Modern Requirements.
• 3 years of experience with issue-tracking software like Atlassian Jira.
• 2 years of experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency.
