Role:- Network Engineer/Admin
Location:- 3 Days onsite a Week at Los Angeles, CA
Design and implement on-premises and cloud network architectures.
Configure network switches, routing, and VLANs.
Set up VPNs and direct CSP circuits (e.g., AWS Direct Connect, Azure EXPRESSROUTE).
Plan and assess decommissioning of legacy network components.
Execute decommissioning with minimal disruption.
Update network documentation after decommissioning.
Create detailed network diagrams.
Work with City staff on configuration and decommissioning.
Test network performance for validation.
Submit weekly progress reports to city staff.
Provide training and knowledge transfer to city staff.
Performance Specifications
Feedback on performance will be conducted via email and Google meetings. The qualified candidate must possess the following skills and experience:
A bachelor s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
3 years of proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role, with a track record of designing and managing robust on-premises and cloud network architectures.
5 years of demonstrated technical proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network switches, routing protocols, VLANs, VPNs, and CSP circuits (e.g., AWS Direct Connect).
Strong expertise in network design, decommissioning legacy infrastructure, and optimizing performance in enterprise environments.
Proficiency in creating detailed network diagrams and maintaining up-to date documentation.
Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment and adapt to changes in a fastpaced work environment.
Certifications in related fields would be an advantage (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, AZ-700).
5 years of experience managing and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure.
