Security Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Engineer, implement, and monitor security measures for computer systems, networks, and information
- Manage Vulnerability Management requests, investigations, responses, and documentation
- Conduct Incident Response investigations, responses, and reporting
- Identify and define system security requirements
- Manage email communications and protection tools
- Develop technical solutions and security tools to mitigate vulnerabilities and automate tasks
- Write comprehensive reports with findings, outcomes, and propositions for further security enhancement
- Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
- Respond to and coordinate security incident activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define, interpret, and implement requirements
- Educate and train staff on information system security best practices
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Minimum 2 years of IT Security experience
- Minimum 3 years as a SysAdmin/Engineer in Windows, Linux, or Network
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience, including in a corporate environment
- Experience with email security platforms (preferably Mimecast), SEIMs (such as Splunk or Sumo Logic), EDR/EPP platforms (CrowdStrike or SentinelOne), and ITSM solutions (Jira Service Management preferred)
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities/Team Player!
- Knowledge of Asset Management tools (e.g., LanSweeper)
- Familiarity with Cisco Security and Network products (e.g., Umbrella and ASAs)
- Familiarity with Vulnerability Scanning platforms (Tenable IO/Nessus preferred)
- Thorough understanding of security principles, techniques, and protocols
- Hands-on experience with security systems (firewalls, IDS, antivirus, authentication, log management, content filtering, etc.)
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Act with urgency to resolve requests
- Ability to lead individual projects and balance, prioritize, and organize multiple tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Salary : $96,000 - $144,000
